About Pet Loss Support

Jennifer LeGree Pet Loss Support provides compassionate, non-clinical grief support for individuals and families coping with the loss or anticipated loss of a beloved animal companion.

Sessions offer space to talk, process emotions, honor your bond, and learn gentle coping tools during a difficult time. Many people simply need someone who understands how real and deep pet loss grief can be.

This is a place where your grief is taken seriously and treated with care.

Is this therapy?

No. Pet loss support is not therapy or mental health treatment.

I provide emotional support, grief education, compassionate listening, and coping tools. I do not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis, or clinical services.

If you are looking for therapy or mental health care, I’m happy to help you find appropriate referrals.

How is this different from therapy?

Pet loss support is a non-clinical service focused on emotional support and coping. Because this is not therapy or medical treatment, no diagnosis is required and sessions are private pay only.

Some people prefer this approach because it offers flexibility, privacy, and freedom from insurance requirements or medical documentation.

If you’re seeking therapy or plan to use insurance benefits, the best place to start is by contacting your insurance provider to request a list of in-network mental health professionals. They can guide you to therapists who meet your coverage and clinical needs.

Do you provide documentation or emotional support animal (ESA) letters?

Because this service is non-clinical support rather than therapy or medical treatment, I’m unable to provide documentation, diagnostic evaluations, or letters for emotional support animals, housing, workplace accommodations, or legal purposes.

If you are seeking these types of services, a licensed healthcare or mental health provider may be more appropriate.

What happens during a session?

Each session is guided by you and your needs.

Some people want space to talk and share memories. Others want help navigating guilt, decision-making, or the quiet emptiness that can follow loss. Many simply want someone who understands the depth of the human–animal bond.

There is no “right” way to grieve and no pressure to move at any particular pace.

Who I work with

Services are offered to adults (18+).

Minors may participate only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. One-on-one sessions with minors are not provided.

I work with individuals and families grieving all types of animal companions.

Do you work with clients outside of Nevada?

Yes. Because this is a non-clinical support service rather than therapy, I’m able to work with clients in other states by phone or video.

This allows individuals and families to access pet loss support regardless of location.

Virtual Session Guidelines

For phone or video sessions, please plan to join from a private, quiet, and stationary location.

For safety and confidentiality:

• Please do not attend sessions while driving
• If joining from a vehicle, it must be parked
• Choose a space where you feel comfortable speaking openly

These guidelines help ensure your time feels safe, focused, and uninterrupted.

Do you offer consultations?

I do not offer free consultations.

In my experience, brief calls can quickly turn into unpaid support time, which doesn’t allow for the care, attention, and boundaries that meaningful grief support deserves.

If you feel ready, you’re welcome to schedule a full session so we can have dedicated, uninterrupted time together.

Scheduling, Payment & Session Policies

To provide thoughtful, dedicated time for each client, sessions are scheduled in advance.

Appointments must be booked at least 24 hours ahead of time. Same-day sessions are not available for new clients.

Payment is required at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment to reserve your time. Unpaid appointments are automatically canceled.

New clients will receive a brief intake and consent form after booking. Forms must be completed at least 24 hours before your first session. If forms are not received, the appointment will be canceled and any payment will be refunded.

Cancellation, Rescheduling & Late Arrivals

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, missed appointments, or late arrivals are non-refundable.

If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time. A 15-minute grace period is offered. After 15 minutes, the session may be shortened or canceled.

Thank you for understanding that these policies help protect dedicated time for every client.

Still unsure?

Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. If you’re not sure where to begin, that’s completely okay.

You don’t need the right words or a clear plan — just a willingness to show up as you are.

When you’re ready, you can book a session or send a message through the contact page. I’m here to help.
